The Burren Centre in Kilfenora is a wonderful place to embark on a trip through the history of the Burren’s natural and cultural landscape. Learn about the ancient creatures that lived in the sea over 300 million years ago – and how their fossils are now visible in the Burren’s limestone rocks. You can get an insight into the great ice ages through which the landscape was covered in thick ice sheets – and how human settlers arrived in the last 8,000 years.
Staff at the Burren Centre will assist you with educational materials and activities.
